4.1 CEILING Formula The CEILING formula in Excel allows you to round up by multiples of any given number. For example, if you wish to purchase 6 oranges from a wholesaler, but they are only sold in multiples of 8, you will be billed for 8; if you want 15 you will be billed for 16; 20 and you will be billed for 24, etc. Ceiling formula in Excel is best used with other logical functions like AND, IF, ISTEXT, VLOOKUP and HLOOKUP.
